  1. Arts Council of Southeast Missouri

    Brief Description:

    The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri was founded in 1961 by local metal-smith, Otto F. Dingeldein. We are proud to be the oldest Arts Council in the state, and even precede the Missouri Arts Council in date of origination by a few years. Our mission is to provide a forum for residents and artists of the Southeast Missouri region to explore, experience, and share in the diversity and excitement of the arts. We do this by providing over 100 educational programs and events to the area over the course of the calendar year.

    Brief Description:

    The Cape Girardeau Public School Foundation, through the support of community, will provide to the schools additional resources through donations, grants and endowments to enhance the educational opportunities of its students.   1. Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri

    Brief Description:

    Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri is a non-profit, faith-based social service organization providing services to vulnerable individuals and families in the Roman catholic Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.  This area covers 39 counties of southern Missouri encompassing approximately the southern third of the state stretching from the Illinois border to the east to the Kansas/Oklahoma border to the west.

  1. Cultural Exchange Network

    Brief Description:

    Cultural Exchange Network-CENET’s mission is to inspire a safer, more prosperous and compassionate world through international education and cultural exploration.

    CENET offers local classroom and camp programs to assist youth in developing cultural awareness, operates the Magellan Exchange and offers Exchange Visitor Programs such as work and travel, intern and trainee opportunities for non-U.S. participants interested in United States culture.

    Brief Description:

    The Friends of the Cape Girardeau Public Library Foundation is a fundraising arm of the Cape Girardeau Public Library. They raise money for materials, special events and services that the annual library budget cannot afford. Their annual fundraising events include two book sales and a membership drive.

    The Gibson Center works to bring every individual a new chance for a better life. We provide services to all people without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, or handicap. The Gibson Center is a non-profit corporation formed for the purpose of creating and operating needed substance use services. It operates under the statutes and regulations of the State of Missouri which governs organizations of this type.

    Brief Description:

    The Humane Society of Southeast Missouri are an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets and people in Southeast Missouri. We envision a community where every animal has a safe and loving home. Our care and support helps more than 3,500 animals stay off the street each year.

    We receive no operating funds from the government or the Humane Society of the United States. We rely on the love and support of our community for volunteers and donations to continue our mission.

    The Jackson R-2 School District Foundation is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to sustaining and enhancing the excellence of Jackson R-2 Schools by providing alternative resources to expand educational opportunities.

  1. Kellerman Foundation

    Brief Description:

    Mary Ann and Bert Kellerman have been committed to and involved in preservation since 1971. Both were professors at Southeast Missouri State University. Dr. Mary Ann Kellerman taught Interior Design and was instrumental in the development of the Historic Preservation program. Dr. Bert Kellerman was in the College of Business and served as Chair of the Marketing Department from its inception in 1976. In 1994, he became the Associate Dean in the Harrison College of Business.

    After successful careers in higher education, Mary Ann and Bert Kellerman, at the urging of neighbors, friends and colleagues, created the Kellerman Foundation for Historic Preservation as a means to leave a legacy of historic preservation for Southeast Missouri.

    The Kellermans have restored both commercial and residential structures in the area. They have also received local and state awards for their preservation efforts.

    Brief Description:

    The Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) national organization is dedicated to creating, equipping and enhancing the ministry of Love INC affiliates in communities across the country.
    Love INC is a proven model whereby local affiliates network together local churches, church volunteers and community organizations to help people who lack resources.

    Brief Description:

    Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Missouri (LFCS) is a non-profit social services organization serving the State of Missouri. The organization has been in existence since 1868, when it was founded as a residence for children left homeless after the Civil War.

  1. Missouri Delta Medical Center Foundation

    Brief Description:

    The Missouri Delta Medical Center Foundation was established in 1991 as a non-profit 501 C-3 and is the chief fundraising arm for Missouri Delta Medical Center. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided over $6 million for essential projects at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

    Brief Description:

    The Missouri Veterans Homes manage a total of 1350 beds that provide long term skilled nursing care in compliance with 157 Federal Department of Veterans Affairs regulations. The Homes are located in Cameron, Cape Girardeau, Mexico, Mount Vernon, St. James, St. Louis, and Warrensburg.

    Brief Description:

    The  Mission of the NDHS Education Fund Foundation is to develop, promote, and sustain Catholic secondary education exclusively at Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, through the stewardship of the endowed and designated funds entrusted to the Foundation. We believe that every child has the potential to be an apostle of Jesus Christ.     Brief Description:

    Options for Women is a non-profit, community outreach program that offers medical quality pregnancy tests, limited first trimester ultrasound, advocacy services, parenting classes, material resources assistance and community/medical referrals to those facing planned or unplanned pregnancy. Our vision is to see life valued and families strengthened.  All of our services are free and confidential.

    Brief Description:

    The Safe House for Women is a non-profit domestic violence agency that provides safe refuge and support services to those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.  Through our residential shelter and outreach office, we provide 24-hour crisis hotline services, intensive case management, individual and group counseling, court advocacy, referral services, and violence prevention programs. The Safe House has served the Cape Girardeau region for 25 years, and we continue to work toward a community in which everyone lives free from abuse.

  1. Southeast MO Foodbank

    Brief Description:

    Southeast Missouri (SEMO) Food Bank is the Feeding America network food bank for southeast Missouri, serving more than 180 hunger-relief organizations across 16 Missouri counties. We are also a part of Feeding Missouri a coalition of six food banks serving the state. SEMO Food Bank reaches nearly 58,000 individuals each month with food assistance and distributes more than 8 million pounds of food annually. SMFB has earned the Better Business Bureau accreditation and follows their set of standards for charitable accountability. Our distribution facility in Sikeston Missouri has also received “superior” AIB International food safety certifications.

  1. Teen Challenge of Mid-America

    Brief Description:

    Our Program Teen Challenge International of Mid America (TCIMA) in Cape Girardeau, MO is a long-term, residential, faith-based program that ministers to men with drug, alcohol and other addictions, as well as life controlling issues. We are part of a worldwide network of ministries which include about 200 centers around the world. We minister to men ages 16 and above, many being in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and above and from all ways of life because addiction knows no age boundaries, education or social class. We typically have between 130-140 students or more who are with us for 10 months at a time, completing upwards of 330 men per year.

    Brief Description:

    The purpose of Uptown Jackson is to provide a framework to guide the promotion and development of the historic uptown area as a community anchor and a destination. Uptown Jackson reflects a vibrant, bustling, pedestrian-oriented community offering a variety of activities and experiences that support existing businesses and attract new ones while drawing visitors as well as past and present residents. We strive to preserve the character of an outstanding community with unique qualities to be treasured, occasionally polished, and frequently put on display.

  1. Valle Schools Foundation

    Brief Description:

    The Valle Schools Foundation was created to provide for long-term financial support of Catholic education for the faithful at the Valle Schools, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. The Foundation is separate in purpose and direction from the Schools, and shall not interfere with the Schools’ independent responsibility to direct the Schools’ short- and long-term mission.

  1. Voices for Children/ CASA of Southeast Missouri

    Brief Description:

    In our own area, the 32nd Judicial Circuit of Missouri which includes Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, and Perry counties, over 350 children are currently in foster care due to child abuse and neglect. These children are innocent victims who need a voice in the system. Each of these children will end up in court and a judge will decide their future. A Voices for Children/CASA volunteer can speak on behalf of the child and provide the Court with additional information to allow them to make the most informed decision possible as to what is in the best interest of the child.
